Install before you fly
Install on Wi-Fi at home, and do not assume when the validity clock starts.
Use Wi-Fi
Installation needs a data connection. Do it on Wi-Fi before you travel, while you can still reach this account and the phone settings.
Keep the phone unlocked and the carrier lock removed first. Those are separate from installation.
The clock is plan-specific
Some plans start when the eSIM is installed. Others start at the first connection to a visited network. eSIM Access sends this as an activation code on the package, and this preview does not guess which event starts a sample plan.
The supplier also sends an unused-validity window. If that window is short, do not install weeks before the trip until the live package states the rule.
