A carrier lock and eSIM support are different checks.
What a lock blocks
A phone locked to a carrier can refuse another carrier’s eSIM even when the hardware supports eSIM. RoamFinch cannot unlock it.
Ask the carrier that sold the phone whether it is unlocked. Pay that carrier’s unlock conditions before buying travel data.
How to tell them apart
eSIM support: the settings screen offers Add eSIM.
Unlock: the carrier, or the phone’s status screen, says the device is not restricted to one network. Use the compatibility check and answer both.
